Tattoos are the result of pigments that were inserted into the skin and stay there. The energy of the light pulse is absorbed in the pigments of the tattoo, shakes the connections between the pigment molecules and gradually breaks the big constructions into small ones. When a piece is small enough to pass throw the cells membrane it is treated by the cytoplasm as waste, driven out of the cell and dissolves in the blood stream.

The darker the tattoo is the more energy it will absorb, the faster it will fade away.

Dark tattoos will absorb more energy than the skin, which is next to them. This difference allows us to give energy at a level that will shake the tattoo but not the skin around it.

Tattoos that resemble to the color of the skin (yellow for example) are harder to remove, since we can use less energy on them without effecting the skin.

The tattoo treatment is used to treat other pigment problems such as age spots, sunspots and other pigmented lesions.
